Project
Piedmont Triad International Airport (GSO), NC
We are the prime contractor for the FAR Part 150 Study at Piedmont Triad International Airport (ongoing). The impetus for the study was planning and construction of a new runway at the airport and an air-cargo hub for FedEx. The Noise Compatibility Program (NCP) developed during the study implements head-to-head operations during the night, a key noise mitigation measure in the FEIS for the new runway and FedEx hub. The NCP includes other mitigation measures related to airport operations, land use and noise program management. The NEMs and the NCP will be submitted to the FAA during 2006 with implementation anticipated to begin in 2007 and initial use of the new runway and FedEx hub during 2009.
